4 Ways to Stretch Hair

Hey Naturalistas!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I've been enjoying mine and also this lovely weather. We had a high of 66 degrees today and it was really nice. My daughter and I also had a great hair day! No humidity equals a great hair day for anyone regardless if you're relaxed or natural. Which brings me to my subject about stretching the hair. I normally don't wear wet and go hair for many different reasons. I tend to have more tangles wearing that style and it doesn't last long at all. I will forever be a Braid out and Bun girl!  When I wear my hair in braid outs, I have less tangles and less shedding and I'm able to actually detangle the hair and of course I have more length to play with. Blowing drying the hair will stretch the hair, but I wouldn't recommend doing that to your hair on a daily basis.  So with that being said, I would like to share 4 ways you can stretch your hair without heat.

  • Braid Outs- Of course, braid outs would be my number 1 choice of all times. Braid outs take less time to do and your hair is stretched to give you more length.  I love that when I braid my hair the next day, it has less tangles.

  • Twist Outs- Twist outs are very similar to braid outs. Twist outs is a style where you twist the hair instead of braiding. You will receive stretched deep waves.

  • Buns-  Buns will always be a part of my regimen. I love to wear my hair in a bun after I wash  my   hair.  This allows the hair to stretch for a couple of days until I begin my braid out plus it's a simple protective style.

  • Banding- I love to band my daughter's hair after wash days or during the week. This style consists of using 5 or 6 hair ties on the pony tail elongating the hair.

Achieving your Goals

Hey Naturalistas!!

Now that it's been a week since the new year, I hope everyone is out there achieving their goals or at least writing their goals down. I have been really praying and making sure I listen to God for what he has planned for me.  I want to fulfill the plans of God.  Lately, I've been talking to God, but not really listening. It hit me on yesterday as I talked with my sister-in-love, that God was speaking to me all along. As he spoke to me, I doubted everything he said and felt like he didn't really say those things. I realized that it was fear leading me to think those things. Well, now I am excited and feel at peace because I know God has spoken to me. You can never go wrong when God is leading the way. That's all I want in life is to be lead by God.

Purpose is fulfilling the plan God has for your life. God's plans change a lot, but his purpose stays the same.  His purpose for your life is not dead, if you're not.

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)

Tips to achieving your Goals

Spiritual Responsibility - Trusting God with everything. If you don't set the goal, someone else will set it for you. Goals are statements of Faith.  Not just Dreams!!  Declaring what Christ can do in you and through you. They are statements that will stretch your Faith.

Write it down- It's important that you write your goals so you can see exactly what you want to achieve. Writing it down really helps me out, because it feels good to check things off when I'm done. I also don't feel overwhelm when things are in order and it helps me to see the bigger picture.

Start Now- The goals are not going to fall in your lap, so start now. It's up to you to make your dreams happen! When you let God direct your path, he will show you what steps you need to take in order to achieve the goal. The biggest part is taking self out the picture and letting God be the forefront.

Let the size of your God determine the size of your Goals!!

Christmas on the Beach

Hey Naturalistas!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! I definitely enjoyed mine!! God truly smiled on us with the weather considering that it rained everywhere else. It was suppose to rain the entire time, but God saw fit to keep sunshine on us each day. Our family trip was everything I expected and more.  I decided that I would bless my family including my parents, siblings, and grandmother with 3 nights on Pensacola Beach. We stayed at this amazing beach house that was perfect for my family. There was peace and great laughter the entire time. I have to say this was one of the best holidays!  I didn't have to receive one gift, because my gift was being with my family. That was the best gift ever! I thank God for blessing us with a wonderful Christmas. I hope everyone  enjoyed their holidays and now ready to make 2016 a great one!!! I have a few pictures to share of my holidays.

We even had time to do a family photo shoot!!
