Don't Give up on God

Hey Naturalistas!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Resurrection weekend. My weekend was nothing short than a miracle on Easter  Resurrection weekend. Yes, I said miracle!! God really showed up and showed out!!! I will start by saying last month, I had a dream that it would take us 2 days to sell our home. Well, I wasn't sure how to take that. I wanted to believe it, but I just didn't think that was real. My husband quickly got me out of that mind set and open my eyes. God was already dealing with us about selling our home.  We definitely had peace about it and knew that it would sell when God saw fit. Well, the day we met with our agent, my husband never forgot the dream and even told the agent that this house will sell in 2 days because of my dream.  I'm looking at him in embarrassment, and then I caught myself once again. My faith was drifting and I definitely had to give myself a pep talk. God can do the unthinkable and when he sees you have faith he will grant you your heart's desires. Well, on Good Friday around 11:30, we put our home on the market. My husband was ready to start counting down, which made me a little nervous. He was so excited and ready! I was just amazed to see him with so much faith, which inspired me.

The very next morning, we get a call for a showing at 2:20. We got up quick to make sure the house was tidy and ready to be seen. Once we finished, all of sudden around 11:30, the doorbell rings. We didn't think nothing of it. We figured it was a neighbor or UPS delivering a package, but to our surprise it was a realtor and a buyer ready to make an offer on our home! I was in total shocked and just confused ( I shouldn't have been because God already revealed it). The agent said they tried to call our agent, but couldn't get in touch with him, so they had to come straight to the house. Now you know that is nothing but God!! After they saw our home, they sent their offer that evening. We countered offer and they accepted our offer at 11:30 Easter morning!  Do you see how God works! It literally took exactly 2 days! As I write this, all I can do is give God glory and let you know that whatever you're going through or want God to do, don't give up. God will answer!

If you ever feel God isn't listening to your prayers, please don't give up on God because he hears every word you say. He knows your heart's desires. Don't ever think God can't do the impossible. The person that made an offer on my home didn't even have an appt. God will do the unthinkable! Just trust him!!!

Product Review: As I am Twist Defining Cream

Hey my Beautiful Naturalistas!

I hope everyone is enjoying their week. We are so close to Friday!! I'm a little torn with this weather though. I despise humid days!! My hair doesn't do that well on those days, but that's the beauty of natural hair and you make the best of it.

It's been such a long time since I've done a product review, but while shopping at Sally's to get my favorite leave in conditioner ( Generic Paul Mitchell The Conditioner), I got the urge to want to venture out and try something new. I've never been a product junkie, but every blue moon I decide to try something new. It's actually been several years since I've purchased a new product, so I'm over due.  There were so many products on the wall, and the product that caught my eye was the As I Am Twist Defining Cream.  I've heard great things about their products and decided that I would give it a try. As I opened the container, the fragrance smelled really good. It has a thick creamy texture which I love for my hair. This product is definitely not to use as a detangler, but more for styling purposes only. When I applied this product, I also applied my leave in conditioner and used only a dime size amount of the As I am.

The defining cream really defined my curls as I twisted the end of the
braid.
It was very humid, but still pleased with the results.

Being Natural made me a Clean Eater

Hey Naturalistas!!

I hope everyone had a fabulous week!! Today I want to talk about how being natural made me a clean eater. As soon as you start the natural hair journey, you start to research what's good for your hair. As I would research ingredients that's not good for your hair, I started to realize that maybe what I'm eating or putting on my skin isn't good either. I'm doing all of this research on my hair, but what about what I'm eating. So, I started looking in my pantry and realized the ingredients on the packaged foods were words that I could barely pronounce. It hit me that something has to change. After that, I watched a documentary on the foods we eat and it was terrifying. I know we can't escape everything in this world, but as a wife and mother, I want to make sure I can minimize the amount of chemicals we do eat and what we put on our skin.

To help cut down on process food, I make sure I plan out my meals for the week and make a grocery list. I have a routine where I try to go grocery shopping every Friday if I can. It feels good knowing that I have a plan and  that we have a clean healthy home cooked meal each day.

I try to stay away from Whole Foods if I can and shop at Kroger and Sprouts who also carry organic items to reduce the cost. Kroger's brand Simple Truth is awesome! They have everything you can think of. I know everything that's organic isn't always the best, so it's vital that we read the ingredients on these labels and cut down on the amount of process food we do buy.

For our skin, I'm trying to wean off products that have harmful ingredients. I love using shea butter and coconut oil for our skin. For our soap, we love to use Dr. Bronner's soap which is a pure soap that is made of organic coconut oil, organic palm oil, and organic jojoba oil. We love it.

With this journey, it's been one step at a time. So, if you have made up your mind about eating clean as well as what you apply on your skin, just take it one day at a time. You can get overwhelmed since this is a trend now. Please do your homework and research.  Below is a list of the dirty dozen and the clean 15 list to help you on your journey.
